Force Recon operates under the umbrella of the United States Marine Corps with the primary task of securing intelligence.
Established on June 19th, 1957, Force Recon has been charged with intelligence-gathering missions of opposing forces since. It saw considerable service during the Vietnam War (1955-1975) and continues to service today - having participated in operations across Iraq and the Middle East. Some 400 personnel make up the force and these elements are trained in five primary phases before being granted the status of Force Recon. Their equipment consists of various weapons and equipment including Close-Quarters Battle (CQB) small arms, Fast Attack Vehicles (FAVs) and heavy, man-portable weaponry to see the mission through.
