The Kimber Custom is a Colt M1911 semi-automatic handgun available since 1997 through Kimber Manufacturing. It is primarily seen in .45 ACP - the same caliber of the original M1911 - and takes on the original's form and function. The base offering has a 5" barrel assembly with steel frame construction. The solid trigger is custom and the ejection port is slightly recessed while there is both a grip safety and beavertail safety mechanism. A 7-, 8- and 10-round magazine are used for feeding the .45 ACP cartridges.

The Custom II differs primarily in having an internal safety at the firing pin. The Custom TLE II is a Tactical Law Enforcement (TLE) model and issued to elements of L.A. SWAT police. The TLE is a family of guns with several subvariants included. The "Warrior" and "Desert Warrior" models are other offshoots of the Custom and these issued to elements of the USMC's MARSOC special units.©MilitaryFactory.com
