Efforts to protect personnel on military installations and facilities from chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear incidents. Also called CBRN defense. (JP 3-07.2) chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosive hazards ? Those chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosive elements that pose or could pose a hazard to individuals. Chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosive hazards include those created from accidental releases, toxic industrial materials (especially air and water poisons), biological pathogens, radioactive matter, and high-yield explosives. Also included are any hazards resulting from the deliberate employment of weapons of mass destruction during military operations. Also called CBRNE hazards. (JP 3-07.2) (US DoD)
