The QX-5 was one of two cargo-hauling Unmanned Helicopter Systems (UHs) unveiled by UAE-based EDGE Group at Dubai Air Show 2021 (the other being the QX-6, detailed elsewhere on this site). The aircraft is intended as a multi-market player, covering requirements typically arising in military, civilian, and industry circles including frontline resupply, humanitarian operations, and Oil and Gas industry sorties. The vehicle operates through a quad-copter arrangement, centralizes its optics at the fuselage, and sports a twin-boom design which incorporates the straight wing mainplanes for additional horizontal flight support and control.

The core system weighs 242lb (110kg) at take-off and relies on a quad-engine arrangement driven by conventional means. The air system can stay aloft for up to sixteen hours, giving it exceptional range over terrain, and operate upwards of 15,000 feet. Optics was held in a "chin" blister providing 360-degree views of the action surrounding the aircraft. The four propeller units are positioned at the extreme corners of the design, offering balance and enhanced controlling of the system in flight and when undertaking more precise movements.

At this time, the QX-5 remains a proposal and has not entered service with any one force or organization.
