The Remington Model 870 "Wingmaster" is a variant of the famous (and best-selling) Remington M870 series pump-action slide shotguns which traces its roots to a 1951 release. The Wingmaster was given a walnut stock and blued steel receiver while being originally sold with a fixed choke. Offerings included a 12-, 16- and 20-gauge forms which went on to see considerable usage as a sporting/hunting gun, home defense system, military firearm, and police service shotgun. The Wingmaster incorporated a 5-round tubular magazine under the barrel with a manually-actuated, pump-action system (with push-button safety catch rear of the trigger guard) used to manage the ammunition supply and chamber.

The weapon received a design overhaul in 1986 and went on to see consistent serial production though some marks in the line have been discontinued.

Some 10,000,000 Remington Model 870 series shotguns have been produced since 1951 proving the line reliable, durable, and effective in whatever role it is used.©MilitaryFactory.com
