The Ruger Precision is a complete family of bolt-action, long-range hunting rifles. It is available (by way of different models offered) in various chamberings covering 308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor, 338 Lapua Magnum, 300 Winchester Magnum, 300 PRC with barrel lengths ranging from 20 inches to 26 inches long. The specific chambering in play dictates the number of cartridges in the magazine, this ranging from 5 to 10 rounds.

The rifle is given a conventional, proven design layout and feeds from a detachable box magazine while being manually-actuated through operation of the bolt handle. The bolt handle is purposely oversized for ease-of-use with a bolt disassembly tool stored on the rifle itself. The shoulder stock is adjustable and the pistol grip ergonomically angled for a firm hold. The free-floating hand guard is vented by way of horizontal slots and capped by a Ruger Precision Rifle Hybrid Muzzle Brake for recoil and noise reduction. The manual safety control is ambidextrous to satisfy both left- and right-handed shooters. Over the receiver can be mounted various after-market scopes for accurized ranged fire along a short length of Picatinny rail. The stock is featured with sling attachment points and a rubber butt pad, folding along a hinge for transport when on-the-march. Comb height is adjustable. A folding bipod can be affixed under the forend.
