The Winchester XPR is an all-modern bolt-action hunting rifle offered by the historic firearms concern. The rifle is conventionally-arranged and is essentially a no-frills solution. The base XPR model sees a matte black composite stock runs from forend to shoulder and integrates the grip. The MOA trigger unit is underslung and the magazine feed (detachable box) is directly ahead. The bolt handle sits over the right side of the body and the receiver supports optics for accurized firing at-range. The Perma-Cote barrel assembly protrudes a distance away from the forend. Sling loops are provided under the forend and under the shoulder stock. Overall length is 42 inches with a barrel assembly measuring 22 inches.

Internally, the bolt (nickel Teflon-coated body) is constructed from chrome-poly steel bar stock. A bolt unlock button is provided as is a two-position safety switch. The receiver is machined from solid steel and recoil lugs are steel. The barrel is of the free-floating variety and the target crown recessed. Length of pull is 13 3/4. Five rounds are held in the detachable box magazine. As a bolt-action rifle, the system requires the operator to manage the bolt through the bolt-handle.

The XPR brand covers an extensive line of related rifles with varying calibers, stock types, and barrel finishes. This includes the XPR "Compact", XPR "Stealth" (suppressor-ready), the XPR "Hunter", XPR "Extreme Hunter", XPR "Thumbhole Varmint" (suppressor-ready), "Renegade Long Range SR", XPR "Scope Combo", XPR "Compact Scope Combo", XPR "SR" (suppressor-ready), XPR "Sporter", and several exclusive offerings to boot.

As such, chamberings run the gamut of widely-accepted and specific target calibers: .223 Remington, .243 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08 Remington, .308 Winchester, .350 Legend, 6.5 PRC, .270 Winchester, .30-06 Springfield, 7mm Remington Magnum, .300 Winchester Magnum, .338 Winchester Magnum to name just some of the available supported cartridges (see Winchester marketing materials for complete list).
