SAKO of Finland markets the Tikka T3x bolt-action rifle to the most discerning of sport shooters / game hunters. The product is showcased with exceptional reliability, accuracy, and ease-of-operation built from a pedigree that dates back to the times of the Great War in 1918.

The rifle takes on a conventional form and function: the stock makes up the shoulder support, pistol-type grip handle, and the forend. To this is inlaid the working metal components as well as the barrel which extends some distance ahead of the forend's reach. The T3 relies on the tried-and-true manually-actuated bolt handle mechanism which clears any spent cartridges from the chamber while introducing a fresh, ready-to-fire cartridge to the operation. The handle sits over the right side of the body in the usual way, within easy reach of the firing hand, and is made up of the Tikka rigid-action two-locking bolt assembly with plunger ejector and removable bolt handle component. The trigger is surrounded by a stiff ring / trigger guard.

As with other modern hunting rifles, various optics can be sat over the frame allowing for precision / accurized fire at-range. Feeding is from a detachable box magazine of single-column arrangement holding 3, 5, 6, or 10-rounds depending on chambering / model in play. Sling loops allow for a strap to be fitted and ease transporting the system on marches. The rifle is customizable through an array of available optional accessories encompassing muzzle brakes, forend replacements, bipod supports, and the like.

A two-position safety works against both the trigger system and bolt handle to promote security around the firearm and this is further enhanced by the visual safety / firing pin status indicators.
