The STSR23 is a 7.62mm-chambered semi-automatic rifle system being developed by SNT Motiv of South Korea. Its qualities are akin to a modern Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) for tactical-level use - offering reliability, portable, and accurized fire at range with a proven man-stopping cartridge. As such, the product is being designed with an all-modern approach to the Warfighter's battlefield needs, complete with an ambidextrous control scheme that includes the magazine catch as well as charging handle.

Internally, the rifle relies on the proven gas-operated piston arrangement and chambers the 7.62x51mm NATO rifle cartridge.

The pistol grip is ergonomically-angled for maximum comfort and the trigger loop is oversized to accommodate a gloved hand. The fire selector is located within easy reach of the primary thumb. The magazine well sit ahead of the trigger group in the usual way and accepts curved magazines of 20-round count. At the rear of the frame is a solid, adjustable shoulder stock. The forend is slotted for maximum cooling of the barrel. Over the receiver and forend is a long run of Picatinny rail which allows for the mounting of scopes, aimers and other tactical accessories. Similarly, there are shorter runs of rail at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions at the forend. A hinged, folding bipod is typically affixed at eh 6 o'clock position. The barrel protrudes some distance ahead of the forend and is capped by a three-slot muzzle brake / compensator.

Barrel lengths vary depending on the mission requirement and can range from 508mm (20") to 609mm (24") long. Overall length is 1,200mm with the standard barrel assembly in place. Overall weigh is a handle 6.0 kilograms unloaded.
