The SIG MPX "Copperhead" is a unique AR-style, super-compact Pistol Caliber Carbine (PCC) manufactured by SIG-Sauer, part of the MPX gun line. The firearm has been purposely designed to be as lightweight and compact enough to be easily transported and deployed - notable qualities for security details, home defense, competition shooting, and general Close Quarters Battle (CQB). The Copperhead entry represents the latest entry into the MPX family lineup that includes the long-barrel "MPX PCC" and the "MPX K".

The gun's frame makes up nearly all of the length of the compact weapon, housing all of the pertinent internal working components within. Its arrangement is still traditional, with the underslung pistol grip/trigger unit at the lower aft-end of the gun. There is a two-position safety lever near the ergonomic grip and the magazine well is found just ahead of the trigger. Over the frame is a section of M1913 rail suitable for mounting various tactical accessories including laser aimers and magnifiers. The PCB (pivoting brace) support is collapsible by way of channels embedded along the sides of the upper portion of the frame. Only the muzzle protrudes from the front of the frame and no handguard is featured in an effort to keep the weapon's overall length as short as possible. The receiver is divided into a lower and upper half allowing for clear access to the internals when the gun is taken down. The charging handle is of the AR-style "pull-back" type and it can be found at the rear of the upper receiver.

Currently (2022), there are several variants of the Copperhead marketed, each chambered in 9mm Luger and relying on a gas piston / semi-automatic system of operation but differing in overall weights, barrel lengths (3.5" or 4.5"), trigger types, magazine counts (10- or 20-round), and receiver finishes.
