The Savage MSR series is based in the Armalite AR-10 semi-automatic rifle brought up to a modern standard. It is marketed in several prominent forms including hunting, defense, and competition shooting and chamberings available include .308WIN and 6.5 Creedmoor. As with other AR-related rifles, the MSR operates through a direct-impingement system for its semi-automatic action.

The MSR-10 Hunter is a hunter-oriented big game solution. Its barrel is constructed of carbon steel while the custom-forged receiver is of Aluminum 7075 and the weapon feeds form a 20-shot detachable box magazine housing either .308WIN or 6.5 Creedmoor cartridges depending on chambering. Overall length reaches 39 inches. A Free-float M-LOK makes up the handguard while Magpul MOE is the pistol grip (with two-stage trigger) and synthetic, adjustable stock unit. The bolt carrier is of chrome. Over the receiver can be fitted various optics on the Picatinny rail section that runs nearly the entire length of the rifle. The magazine holds 20 rounds.

The MSR-10 Hunter Overwatch retains the compact, proven design of the AR-10 and has custom-forged upper/lower receiver components. Along with the forend, the receiver sections are coated in the striking NRA Mossy Oak Overwatch camouflage pattern. The M-LOK free-float design makes up the handguard. A two-stage trigger unit is featured as is a Melonite QPQ barrel assembly with 5R rifling pattern. The magazine holds 20 rounds while the rifle is available in chamberings of 308WIN and 6.5 Creedmoor.

The MSR-10 Competition HD is a heavy-duty competition shooter built around customization. It is given a PROOF Research 18" carbon-fire-wrapped stainless barrel and nickel-boron bolt cattier. The barrel features 5R rifling and is attached to a custom-length adjustable gas system. The Magpul CTR buttstock is featured as is the Savage adjustable muzzle brake. The Hogue pistol grip surrounds the two-stage trigger. The handguard is a rigid, free-floating design that includes the M-LOK anti-glare grooving pattern and red QD sling mounting arrangement. The red selector is ambidextrous as is the magazine release. Chambering is 308WIN. Overall length reaches 40.3 inches. The magazine holds 20 rounds.

The MSR-10 Precision is a competition rifle centered on three different available chamberings: 308WIN, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 6mm Creedmoor. A stainless steel, heavy duty barrel assembly is used as is a non-reciprocating side-charging upper receiver. The gas block is adjustable. The stock is a Magpul PRS design and the handguard from Arca for the 18" long barrel. The rifle has an ambidextrous safety system and Red QD front sling mounting. The magazine holds 20 rounds.

The MSR-10 Long Range is a precision shooter with a custom-forged upper/lower receiver, free-float M-LOK handguard, and two-stage target trigger. The Magpul PRS Gen 3 makes up the buttstock and a non-reciprocating side-charging handle is featured. Chamberings include 308WIN, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 6mm Creedmoor. The magazine holds up to 10 rounds.

The MSR-15 Long Range is, as its name suggests, a long range precision shooter. Chambering is in 224 Valkyrie. The 22" long barrel is finished in stainless steel (Type 3 Hard Anodized) while overall length is 44.25". A Hogue pistol grip with two-stage trigger is once again featured as is a nickel-boron bolt carrier, adjustable gas block, and adjustable muzzle brake. The handguard is the M-LOK free-float design. The magazine holds 10 rounds.

The MSR-15 Competition is geared towards target shooters. Its barrel is a PROOF Research 18" heavy, carbon-fiber-wrapped, stainless design and the receiver (customer upper/lower sections) of Aluminum 7075. Available chamberings include 224 Valkyrie and 223REM. The magazine (with ambidextrous release) capacity increases to 25 rounds. Overall length is 38.6 inches. A Hogue pistol grip (two-stage trigger) is provided along with a Magpul CTR buttstock. The muzzle brake is adjustable as is the gas system. A short section of Picatinny rail is featured over the receiver for optics.

The MSR-15 Valkyrie is a high-performance shooter found in 224 Valkyrie. It features an Elite Series FDE Cerakote forend and upper/lower receiver. The Hogue pistol grip includes a two-stage trigger and is paired with a Magpul UBR Gen 2 buttstock. The muzzle brake is adjustable as is the gas block. The barrel measures 18" long and sports 5R rifling while the entire rifle reaches 39" fully-extended. The magazine holds 25 rounds.

The MSR-15 Patrol is arranged to the M4 Carbine standard completed with shortened barrel assembly, over receiver sighting device (with Picatinny rail), skeletal/adjustable buttstock, and 30-round curved magazine. Chambering is in 223REM/5.56mm. The upper and lower receivers are Mil-spec as is the enhanced trigger unit, and has system. The flip-up sights are from Blackhawk! as is the AR-style pistol grip and stock components. The barrel measures just 16" long and overall length of the carbine is 35.75", reduced to 32.5" with adjustments made.

The MSR-15 Recon LRP is given an adjustable gas block with lengthened barrel to better serve as a carbine - offered in 22 Nosler, 224 Valkyrie, and 6.8 SPC chamberings. The 18" barrel is of carbon steel with 5R rifling pattern while the gas block and muzzle brake are both adjustable. The lower receiver is customer forged and the usual two-stage trigger with Hogue pistol grip is standard. The handguard is the M-LOK free-float variety. The magazine holds 25 rounds.

The MSR-15 RECON 2.0 is a newer addition to the MSR rifle lineup. It has a nickel-boron-coated trigger unit, free-float handguard, and Savage barrel assembly of 16.125" length. Overall length is 36.75" when extended (33.5" otherwise) and the magazine capacity is a useful 30 rounds. A Magpul pistol grip and buttstock are optional.

The MSR-15 Recon 2.0 Overwatch is a new addition to the MSR rifle lineup. It is given the exclusive NRA Mossy Oak Overwatch pattern on the upper and lower receiver sections as well as the forend. A two-stage trigger unit (with integrated trigger guard) is still featured and the 5R button-rifled barrel assembly is capped by the A2muzzle brake. The lower receiver is custom-forged. The magazine count expands to 30 rounds of 223 REM/5.56mm.
