KRI Diponegro (365) operates with the modern Indonesian Navy as a guided-missile corvette, leading the Diponegoro-class of four total hulls. Diponegoro saw her keel laid down by Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding of The Netherlands March 24th, 2005 and launched on September 16th, 2006. The vessel was formally commissioned into service on July 5th, 2007 and maintains an active status as of this writing (2023).

The warship displaces 1,700 tons and has a running length of 297.6 feet with a beam measuring 42.8 feet and a draught down to 11.9 feet. Power is from 2 x SEMT Pielstick 20PA6B STC engines driving 2 x Shafts astern. This propels the vessel to speeds of 28 knots in ideal conditions out to a range of 5,500 miles.

Aboard is a crew of up to 80 personnel. Installed systems include the Thales TACTICOS combat system, MW08 3D search radar, and Sperry BridgeMasterE ARPA radar. ESM is handled by the Thales DR3000 and ECm by the Racal Scorpion 3L fit.

Installed armament encompasses ballistic, missile, and torpedo solutions. This includes a single 76mm OTO-Melara turreted deck gun, 2 x Mistral TETRAL Surface-to-Air Missile (SAM) quadruple launchers, 4 x EXOCET anti-ship missile launchers, 2x 20mm Denel GI-2 autocannons, and 2 x Triple torpedo tubes. This gives the warship an answer to most any modern at-sea threat.

The overall design appearance of the ship is modern as fighting corvettes go. The hull line is unbroken from bow to stern. The turret is the only notable protrusion over the forecastle. The bridge section sits to the rear of and over the turret providing the operating crew with a commanding view of the ocean ahead. The smoke funnels are of a low-profile, enclosed design at midships. The hull superstructure steps down to the single-helicopter helipad deck area over the stern.

All told, the vessel has the capability to undertake a multi-mission approach, operating individually or integrated into the main fighting force.
