CNS Weishan Lake (887) is an at-sea replenishment ship operated by the Chinese Navy (the People's Liberation Army Navy = PLAN). The vessel is related to the Type 903 class (NATO: Fuchi I-class) and follows lead-ship CNS Qiandao Lake (886). Weishan Lake was built by the specialists of the Hudgon-Zhonghua Shipyard (Shanghai) and launched on July 1st, 2003. The vessel was formally commissioned into service in April 18th, 2004. Today (2023), she serves with the South Sea Fleet.

The ship displaces 20,500 tonnes and has a running length of 586 feet with a beam of 81 feet and a draught of 29 feet. Power is from a pair of marine diesel units producing 24,000 horsepower to twin shafts under stern. This provides the ship with a top ocean-going speed of 20 knots and a range out to 10,000 nautical miles.

Aboard is an operating crew of 130 personnel. The hold can house a mix of cargo including palletized loads, oil, and fresh water. At midships are a series of cranes to move cargo about. At the rear, over the stern, is a full-service helipad supporting rotorcraft.

The ship's profile sees the bridge superstructure set well-forwards of midships along the forecastle. The forward superstructure mounts the main mast and its related sensors and systems through a lattice-style structure. The crane and subdeck-access section is over midships with a second hull superstructure set closer to the stern. This section integrates the enclosed, low-profile smoke funnels. The section leads out to the helipad which provides unfettered access to arriving / departing rotorcraft.

Defense is through a modest arrangement of 4 x 37mm H/PJ76F twin-gunned turrets set about the hull superstructure.

As a replenishment ship, Weishan (also "Wieshanhu") forms a critical part of the Chinese Navy response in both wartime and peace time. This includes humanitarian support actions. Excellent range allows the ship to traverse the Blue Water environment and reach active task forces thousands of miles away from any homeport.

The Fuchi I-class has since been upgraded / modernized through the Fuchi II-class encompassing eight total hulls (the first commissioned in 2013). These feature increased displacement among other improvements to the design.
