The Hunter's basic arrangement is largely conventional with crew spaces featured in the hull, entry/exit access hatches at the hull roof line and to the rear, and a track-over-wheel diesel-powered drivetrain. The primary unique feature of this vehicle is its unmanned, remote-operated turret, reducing its overall profile and further removing the crew from harm's way. Extensive side skirt armoring protects the upper reaches of the track-links and roadwheels while smoke grenade dischargers can be used to screen the vehicle's movements against prying enemy eyes.
The vehicle houses a standard operating crew of three made up of the driver, commander, and gunner. Beyond this is hull-seating for up to eight fully-laden ground troops. Exit is through the rear for these occupants, allowing for units to disembark under protection. The vehicle can then fight alongside ground troops as normal bringing its extensive armament suite to bear. The commander and gunner have been given some control redundancy for streamlining, allowing each to feed of the other's available situation/target data. Each position is given independent vision equipment while the entire vehicle is monitored in a 360-degree camera feed. A laser warning system and night vision support aid the crew under various circumstances while communications are protected with target-sharing possible thanks to the fully modern, digital operating environment.
Armament centers on a 30mm "Bushmaster II" series automatic cannon in the turret face accompanied by a co-axially-mounted 7.62mm anti-infantry machine gun. These weapons are seated in an Israeli-originated Rafael Samson 30 model Remote Weapon Station (RWS) with an in-built Anti-Tank, Guided-Missile (ATGM) firing capability (supporting the Israeli "Spike" ATGM family). The installation allows the vehicle to engage a variety of targets at range in support of allied infantry. 8 x Electronically discharged smoke grenades are available for a self-screening effect when needed.
Power is from a single diesel unit driving the vehicle to speeds of 43 miles-per-hour out to a range of 310 miles.
Dimensions include a running length of 22.7 feet, a beam of 11.1 feet, and a height of 11.1 feet. Weight reaches 32.5 tons (short).
The base Hunter chassis can be had in several tailored forms beyond the original AFV offering. The family lineup includes a Command Vehicle (CV), Armored Recovery Vehicle (ARV), Armored Engineering Vehicle (AEV), and Armored Vehicle-Launched Bridge (AVLB). An export model, armed with a 105mm main gun mated to a Cockerill 3105 series powered turret, is also marketed.
