Introduced for service in 2001, the Bombardier CRJ series - that includes the CRJ700, CRJ900 and CRJ1000 aircraft - has found success in a crowded marketplace.

June 2018 - Delta Airlines has committed to the purchase of twenty Bombardier CRJ900 regional jets. These airframes, to include the new "Atmosphere" cabin, are scheduled to be delivered before 2020.

August 2018 - SkyWest Airlines has been named as the operator for the twenty CRJ900 series aircraft ordered by Delta Airlines in June of 2018. The CRJ900 fleet for SkyWest already numbers 36 aircraft.

February 2019 - Untied Airlines has placed an order for 50 CRJ550 aircraft (based in the CRJ700). Deliveries are scheduled to begin before the end of 2019.
