Czech Weapons (CZW) produces the modern RAG-30 automatic grenade launcher for the Czech Army. The system is quite unlike other contemporary offerings in that it is not only chambered for a 30mm grenade projectile, but it feeds from a top-mounted 5-round detachable box magazine (as opposed to a drum, cylinder or belt). The weapon features an operating weight nearing 12 kilograms with an overall length of 1,000mm. A collapsible stock design allows the system to compact to 755mm for better transport. The RAG-30 makes use of a lever-delayed blowback action with full-automatic fire. A related variant, the SAG-30, is a semi-automatic form with a closed-bolt internal function.

Outwardly, the RAG-30 exhibits qualities found in an assault rifle weapon system. There is a rectangular receiver with underslung pistol grip and trigger unit. The shoulder stock is added to the aft of the receiver and is padded for some comfort. The large, detachable box magazines are inserted at the forward top section of the receiver (as seen in some pre-World War 2 era machine guns). A flip-up iron sight is located at the extreme rear of the receiver. The barrel emerges from the front face of the receiver wall with a short section of cooling fins before becoming less detailed at the muzzle. A hinged, foldable bipod is arranged at the forward lower end of the receiver to provide frontal support.

As with other weapons of this type, the RAG-30/SAG-30 are chambered for a variety of payload types - High-Explosive (HE), Fragmentation (FRAG), smoke and illumination. The primary grenade projectile is the 30mm VOG 17.
