The Remington Model 673 was introduced by the Remington Arms company in 2003 as an improved evolution of the decades-old Model 600 of 1964. As with many other hunting rifles, the Model 673 was a bolt-action solution for game hunting and operated through a manually-actuated bolt handle system. The gun was available in a handful of chamberings: .300 Rem SA Ultra Mag, .350 Rem Mag, 6.5mm Rem Mag, and .308 Winchester for this purpose. Despite some strong qualities, rifle was only sold into 2004 before being discontinued.

The Model 673 designation is derived from three key numbers: the rifle's original 600-model series pedigree ("6"), the new short-action type in play ("Model 7"), and the year of introduction (this being the "3" in 2003).

The gun carried a very conventional design arrangement with the stock making up the forend, grip, and padded shoulder support. Metal components including the action and barrel assembly were inlaid in typical fashion with the vented barrel protruding a manageable length ahead of the forend. Sling loops are positioned at both the forend and shoulder stock. Ahead of the grip handle was the underslung trigger unit and the magazine well was seated just ahead of this. The bolt handle sat over the right side of the body in the usual way and within easy reach. Iron sights were provided over the receiver and at the muzzle while the receiver was tapped and drilled for mounting optics.

With its 22 inch barrel, the rifle measured 41.2 inches long and had a weight of 7.5lb.
