The Steyr Carbon CL II is a bolt-action hunting rifle offered by Steyr Mannlicher of Austria for tackling medium-to-large game. The design features a very-light carbon fiber stock construction though the general layout of the rifle is largely conventional with the stock encompassing the shoulder support, forend, and grip handle. The barrel and other metal components are inlaid to the carbon fiber stock to complete the all-in-one hunting solution. The bolt-lever sits over the right side of the frame along with the ejection port and the feed is under the ejection section and nearly conforms to the underside of the stock. The magazine is a detachable double-column box design. The trigger is set under the rear of the frame, just ahead of the grip handle in the usual way, and is surrounded by a thin, oblong ring which allows a gloved hand. Sling loops are positioned at the front of the forend and the underside / rear of the shoulder stock. Optics can be mounted over the frame in the usual way to provide for accurized fire-over-range - a particular advantage where long lines-of-sight are the call-of-the-day.

The Carbon CL II is offered in chamberings of .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, and .338 Lapua Magnum for the most discerning of hunters. The rifle showcases a three-position safety wheel as well as a "combi" trigger unit. The barrel is a 5/8x24 threaded assembly extended some distance ahead of the forend. Depending on chambering in play, the rifle weighs between 6.7lb and 7.7lb and measures 43.7in to 48in long.

The complete product package sports a soft carrying case and optional accessories include a tool-less "FlexSight" feature. As a bolt-action rifle, the action requires manual working of the bolt-handle.
