The FN Barracuda was a security service pistol proposed by the Belgium firm of Fabrique Nationale and accepted into service with a few forces worldwide. The system represented FN's only foray into the world of revolvers but appeared on the scene at a time when other more sexy automatic alternatives were available.

At its core, the system was a double-action weapon, firing from a traditional rotating cylinder containing 6 rounds of ammunition. The weapon could fire the .38 Special or the 357 Magnum rounds but a replacement cylinder offered up use of the 9mm Parabellum. The Barracuda remained a solid offering up until 1989, to which the system was no longer produced by FN.
