VIEW SPECIFICATIONS [+]
The Taurus Model 856 was a conventionally-arranged, small-framed six-shot service revolver available in several different finishes. The firearm sported a very-compact-size for the purpose of concealed carry with support for the .38 Special cartridge. The series was introduced in 2003 but is noted as no longer being in production by Taurus International.

As offered, the Model 856 was given rubber grips for a sure hold. Its overall length reached 6.5 inches with a barrel assembly measuring just 2" long. The trigger was of Double-Action (DA) / Single-Action (SA) operation and the safety system being the Taurus Security System (transfer bar) to protect against inadvertent firing. All other aspects of the revolver were basic - the six-shot rotating cylinder was fitted into the center mass of the frame, the hammer was exposed at the rear of the frame and the trigger unit was displayed under the frame. Sighting devices ran along the top of the weapon.
