The Eurometaal Nr20 series fragmentation hand grenade was developed for service with the Royal Netherlands Army as an anti-personnel weapon. It is a conventional, thrown weapon through-and-through, utilizing a mechanical fuse (Nr19C3/20C1 series) with pyrotechnic delay detonation mechanism and a filling comprised of a high-explosive charge and small steel balls. The body is made of plastic. Its lethal radius measures approximately 16.5 feet and the grenade features a 3- to 4-second delay. Overall length is 103mm with a diameter measuring 60mm. The Nr20C1 is a follow-up design to the original offering and sports a length of 105mm with a 62mm diameter.

Activation is by way of safety pin removal which produced the action needed to engage the striker spring, firing pin, and striker mechanism. Internally, there is a flash charge, intermediate charge, and main charge. The grenades are transported in a hard case which can hold up to 18 grenades.
