The Francotte Pinfire Revolver was Belgian in origin, work completed by the firm of A. Francotte a Liege. Auguste Francotte set up his Belgium gun concern in 1805 and preceded to make a stable of firearms of the highest construction and degree. Engraving was utilized throughout to help promote the high value of Francotte guns and much of the inherent detail could also be requested by customers.

The type was chambered for an 11mm cartridge and utilized a 5-shot rotating cylinder to complete the action. The cylinder lacked a bridge but centered along a cylindrical pin that extended out underneath the barrel. The pistol grip was adorned with wood furniture and a loop was installed along the base of the grip itself. The elegant hammer was very noticeable at the rear of the receiver while the curved trigger was set underneath the body within an oblong trigger ring. The barrel measured in at over 6 inches and was octagonal in nature, capped by a fixed front post sight.©MilitaryFactory.com
