The rise of drone warfare has been clearly witnessed in real-time during the ongoing Ukrainian-Russian War which began in February of 2022. The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) has been featured across various forms, from small, compact fixed-wing and rotary-wing reconnaissance-minded products to large, attack-centered aircraft intended to destroy enemy vehicles and installations at-range from altitude. Against this backdrop, technology developers have been racing to meet the demand for "counter-drone" solutions and one such product to emerge out of war-torn Ukraine itself is the ANTIDRON "KVSG-6" by Kvertus Technology.

The company manufactures an entire lineup of drone-defeating / detections / jamming products.

The system takes on the general appearance of a hardened "briefcase" complete with a pistol grip / trigger unit attached at its rear. A ribbed section ahead and under the center mass of the system is used as a forward grip while an integrated carrying handle is featured over the body for ease-of-transport. A battery pack installed under the rear mass of the unit, delivering the needed electric power. The unit itself is comprised of heavy duty plastic.

As with other battlefield solutions of this type, the KVSG-6 relies on the projection of radio signals towards the target / target area, in turn scrambling signals being received by the airborne drone. The result is partial or complete loss of communications with said drone, resulting in the aircraft flying about aimlessly or simply crashing nearby - resulting in its complete neutralization.

Operation of the system is reported to be rather user-friendly, requiring minimal training as to its effective function, and the weapon boasts an engagement range just beyond two miles - giving it good "reach" at the tactical level against low-flying unmanned threats becoming more common to warfighters at the front. The system can function for up to 30 minutes before requiring additional charge. Overall weight is 6 kilograms making it man-portable in-the-field.

Since the Russian invasion of neighboring Ukraine, the KVSG-6 has been ordered for government military and militia forces in number - such is the need to counter the threat posed by enemy drones on the very fluid fronts of the war.

There are currently two marketed versions of the KVSG-6, the 80w output "ANTIDRON KVSG-6" and the lower-powered (60w), 6.5kg "ANTIDRON KVSG-6 MINI". The product came to market in January of 2022.©MilitaryFactory.com
