VIEW SPECIFICATIONS [+]

The Snipex "Alligator" is an Anti-Material Rifle (AMR) manufactured by Ukrainian-based XADO-Holding, Limited. As the modern battlefield remains a complex machine full of moving parts, this requires a military force stocked with a myriad of products aimed at helping it achieve the ultimate victory. One sub-category of note in all this is the "AMR" covering an oversized, squad-level heavy weapon system designed to deliver an equally-oversized projectile - in this case the cannon-caliber 14.5x11mm Soviet cartridge - to counter enemy snipers, light-armor vehicles, or component disabling of heavier vehicles - all neutralized at range by the AMR operator.

The Alligator has been adopted for service by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (in use since March 2021) and has seen combat use in the Russian invasion of the country beginning in February of 2022. The rifle joins another XADO "Snipex" 14.5mm solution in Ukrainian service in the Snipex "T-Rex" - this 2017 offering being a single-shot breechloader firearm arranged in bullpup configuration.

The Alligator form fires from a 5-round detachable box magazine (inserted ahead of the pistol-grip / trigger unit through a manually-actuated bolt handle managing the rotating bolt function. Effective range is out to 2,000 meters while absolute ranges reach 7,000 meters. The projectile is rated against 10mm armor protection. Recoil is retarded by several measures: a large, multi-slotted muzzle brake, padded shoulder stock, and recoil isolator.

The system has a conventional rifle arrangement with the action and feed set ahead of the trigger. A carrying handle at the midway point of the design allows for transport of the unit by a single operator and a folding bipod under the forend aids in stabilizing the weapon when going prone or firing from behind a low wall. An adjustable support leg is also fitted to the underside of the shoulder stock to help offset the weapon's mass and enhance balance. Over the rear of the receiver is a long run of MIL-STD (Picatinny) rail suitable for mounting various optics sets for precision / accurized fire at-range.
