"Dronebuster" is an anti-drone / anti-Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) solution developed by Flex Force of the United States and is currently marketed as the only handheld, electronic attack-defeat solution that has been approved by the United States Department of Defense. This unique "counter-weapon" sports such critical in-the-field tactical qualities as compactness, light weight, and cost-effectiveness. Beyond this, the system is detailed as easy-to-use, requiring an operator commitment of just five minutes to cover basic functionality. To date, the design has been proven through operations spanning the globe - from the North America and South America, throughout Africa, the Middle East and across the Pacific - at both military and law enforcement levels.
The inherent flexibility of the system allows it to be operated by infantry at the squad-level through its hand-held pistol grip arrangement and relatively compact footprint. It can also double as a fixed, perimeter defense jammer unit engaging enemy drones when entering friendly airspace - useful in protection of key installations, critical infrastructure, on-the-move convoys and the like. Integrated systems give the operator considerable advantages against an inbound aerial threat including basic frequency jamming, communications type determination, and satellite navigation jamming.
As a man-portable, Line-of-Site (LoS) anti-drone solution, Dronebuster measures just 21 inches in length with a width of 6.5 inches and a height of 11 inches. Weight is 4.1 lb. The system operates through an NSN Mil-Spec battery powerpack and can run for up to three hours of continuous jamming or up to 10 hours in RF-detection mode. Endurance can be enhanced through use of a DC power connection for uninterrupted service. The housing can also be equipped with optional Picatinny rails along its top and bottom faces for additional tactical flexibility.
