The Hellcat Pro is part of the Hellcat lineup of proven semi-automatic sidearms produced by Springfield Armory. The weapon is chambered for the ubiquitous 9mm handgun cartridge and is fed from a 15-round detachable box magazine. With a round loaded in the chamber, this brings the total ammunition count to 15+1 - a decided advantage. Two magazines are sold with the base kit. As marketed, the Hellcat Pro brings together the ammunition capacity and performance of a full-sized sidearm and couples this to a more manageable, compact footprint suitable of concealed-carry actions.

Dimensions include an overall length of 6.6" with a 1" width and a height of 4.8". The barrel assembly is 3.7" long and of hammer forged construction.

The general arrangement of the pistol is conventional with a single-piece slide set over the barrel and recoil spring. The slide runs the length of the design and iron sights are fitted fore (tritium and luminescent) and aft ("Tactical Rack U-Dot") along the top. Both the top and sides of the rear section of the assembly are serrated for a firm grip when actuating the assembly. The grip handle is hollowed to accept the detachable box magazine and the magazine release is adaptable to either side of the frame to suit the firer. The trigger loop is oblong and protects trigger frim accidental fire. The slide release and safety lever are all located along the left side of the receiver with the ejection port facing right. A loaded chamber indicator provides instant feedback to the shooter. A Melonite finish is used to coat and protect the gun from general wear.

The gun is marketed as optics-ready out-of-the-box and can mount accessories over the frame (aft of the ejection port) and under the muzzle (a short section of Picatinny rail is provided just ahead of the trigger ring). The handgun supports a wide variety of after-market red dot sight devices due to its Optical Sight Pistol (OSP) configuration and can also be equipped with a compact tactical light for low-light-level function.
