The Hua Qing Minigun is a Gatling-style weapon designed, developed and produced in China for its armed forces. The weapon system features six barrels rotating along a fixed axis to produce voluminous fire. Such weapons are useful in the airspace denial role and can also be featured on helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, warships and assault watercraft. The weapon is electrically-driven by way of an external power source and features a rotary breech, chambered for the 7.62x54mmR cartridge. Feeding is by way of a belt and sighting is through an iron arrangement.
Manufacture of this ferocious weapon is through the Huaqing Machinery Manufacturing Company. it is similar in form and function to the American M134 Minigun and GAU-19 systems (detailed elsewhere on this site).
