There are plenty of options in the semi-automatic handgun market for even the pickiest of shooters. Design originations span from around the globe even in far-off places like Indonesia where Pindad, the well-known small arms maker - lends its talents to the "G2" pistol. The G2 pistol, by all accounts, is a largely conventional, traditional design as far as semi-automatics go.

It is chambered for the 9x19mm Parabellum pistol cartridge firing from a 15-round, high-capacity magazine through a Single-Action Only (SAO) trigger arrangement. The magazine is inserted into the pistol grip in the usual way and a recoil-operated, semi-automatic action is used with a rearward-movement of the slide component. Industry standard levers - slide catch, magazine release, safety - are all present on the G2. A forward and rear sight allow for ranged accuracy and grips feature a crosshatch pattern. Overall weight is in the 0.95 kilogram range.

Two primary models are offered, the G2 "Elite" and the G2 "Combat". The Elite sees an overall length of 221mm with a barrel measuring 127mm long. The Combat model is 200mm long with a barrel of 114mm.
