Both the French and Italian navies make use of a pair of Horizon-class guided-missile destroyer warships - for the latter the series is known as the Orizzonte-class.
The Zumwalt-class of stealth-minded guided missile destroyers was once the future of United States destroyer groups as some thirty total vessels were planned. A budgetary defense review then eliminated twenty-nine from the class leaving just three of the expensive, technology-laden ships in service. The class includes lead ship USS Zumwalt and her sisters USS Michael Monsoor and USS Lyndon B. Johnson.
