CNS Huanggang (577) is a modern guided-missile frigate of the Chinese Navy. Commissioned in 2015, the vessel displaces 4,200 tons and currently serves with the East Sea Fleet (2024). The ship belongs to the Type 054A frigate class which is known to NATO under the name of "Jiangkai-II".

The Type 054A class is represented by a fleet of 35 active hulls out of the 50 planned (2024). Construction of the group began in 2005 and commissioned service began in 2008. CNS Huanggang was constructed by the workers of the Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding concern of Shanghai, China.

Huanggang (577) features a running length of 440 feet and a beam measuring 52 feet. Propulsion is via a COmbined Diesel-And-Diesel (CODAD) arrangement involving 4 x Shaanxi 16 PA6 STC marine diesels developing 7,600 horsepower each. This propels the ship to speeds of 27 knots out to a range of 8,025 nautical miles.

Aboard is a complment of 165 and installed sensors and processing systems include the Type 382 radar, the Type 344 radar, and four Type 345 radars. A pair of Racal RM-1290 systems aid in navigation. The H/SJG-206 serves as the towed sonar array unit. The Type 922-1 is the ship's Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) fit.

Armament is the typical broad set of solutions common to modern fighting ships: there Is a single 76mm PJ26 series turreted deck gun, 1 x 32-cell Vertical Launch System (VLS) for HQ-16 Surface-to-Air Missiles (SAMs) or Yu-8 Anti-Submarine ROCkets (ASROCs), 2 x 4-cell C-803 series anti-ship missile launchers, 2 x 324mm triple torpedo tubes, 2 x 6 Type 87 240mm ASROC launchers, 2 x Type 726-4 18-tube decoy rocket launchers, and 2 x 30mm Type 730 Gatling-style Close-In Weapon Systems (CIWSs).

The ship follows the established design lines of the Type 054A class and exhibits limited protrusions, a blended hull-superstructure appearance, and a relatively low profile. The main mast is enclosed as are the smoke funnels and the bridge section takes up its usual place aft of the VLS / turreted deck gun found along the forecastle. Over the stern is a combination helipad / hangar deck area servicing a single medium-lift navalized helicopter.

To date (2024), CNS Huanggang has been an active presence in Chinese fleet actions - especially those concerning Taiwan, the East China Sea (bordering South Korea, Japan, Okinawa, and Taiwan), and anti-Western showcases in general.
