    Date Authorized: August 3, 1983

    Ribbon Colors: blue; white; green; red


    Description (Ribbon):

    Multi-banded design with thicker ands at center; colors are blue-to-white-to-green-to-white and centerings with a thicker blue band split by a thin red band; this pattern is repeated for the other side of the ribbon though in reverse fashion. An oak leaf cluster may be a part of this ribbon.


    Description (Medal):

    The medal consists of two six-pointed stars, one laid atop the other (total of twelve points). The front face showcases the American Bald Eagle (facing left) with wings spread. The eagle's body is covered by the seal of the U.S. Department of Defense. In the grasp of the eagle are three arrows. The reverse side of the medal showcases the words "JOINT SERVICE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD".

    Awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces below grade O-6.
