The VM90 is a light-class / light-armored multi-mission military vehicle produced by storied Italian truck-maker IVECO. The 4x4 wheeled design is versatile enough to make up several other battlefield forms to accomplish varying battlefield tasks. The Italian Army is a key operator of the truck whose framework is pulled from the IVECO "Daily" commercial light truck / van.

Other global operators of the series are numerous and span from Albania and Brunei to the United Arab Emirates and, more recently, Ukraine. At least four vehicles were sent by Portugal to Ukraine to support the ongoing defense against Russia. Portugal previously used these same vehicles in its participation in the Iraqi Theater. Argentina, Belgium, and Bulgaria all operate the VM90 in civilian security roles.

The vehicle relies on a conventional arrangement involving a 4x4 all-terrain wheeled arrangement with good ground clearance and wheeled positioned near the extreme corners of the frame for excellent balance. The crew compartment incorporates side-by-side seating for the driver and a passenger at front, behind the engine compartment. Over the rear of the chassis can be implemented various mission-specific add-ons. Military models, operating in contested areas, can also feature an open-air Heavy Machine Gun (HMG) turret on a trainable mounting (ring) for self-defense. These were operated by Italian Army forces in Iraq.

Variants of the line includes the VM90T "Torpedo" which is utilized in the tactical vehicle role and is noted for its soft / tarp cover over the rear of the chassis. The VM90P "Protetto" is a protected model with armoring over critical crew and machine spaces. The Ambulanza VM90 is a battlefield ambulance with a complete hard-bodied field clinic affixed over the rear of the chassis.

Security versions of the vehicle also exist, these featured with hard bodies over the rear of the chassis as well and used by various law enforcement / Gendarmerie / security elements globally. A hard-bodied shelter carrier is known as well.©MilitaryFactory.com
