Panus Assembly LTD of Thailand produces an entire line of heavy-duty, armored/unarmored vehicles whose line-up includes the 380X-1 "Phantom". This all-modern truck is intended for use in contested areas, able to conduct such sorties as general reconnaissance and troop-carrying offering its occupants protection against small arms fire, artillery spray, and blasts from hidden explosive devices. Internally, seating is arranged for up to 11 combat-ready troops and the operating crew is made up of a driver and vehicle commander.

The protected hull sees five vision blocks set to a side with firing ports available directly underneath each - this provides occupants with the capability to engage outside parties with personal weapons while under the protection of the truck. The four road wheels are positioned well-apart for good balance and the chassis elevates the hull to mitigate the effects of a detonation underneath the vehicle while also providing for improved cross-country mobility. A spare road wheel is externally mounted along the rear hull face. All windows are bullet-resistant against small arms. The occupants of the forward section are given access through hinged automobile-style doors and various hatches are positioned about the hull roof with further entry-exit gained through the rear of the fighting compartment. The vehicle is armored against Level 4B explosions. The engine is contained in a compartment at the bow in the traditional way with the driver's position immediately aft.

Dimensions of the truck include a running length of 8.3 meters, a width of 2.5 meters, and a height of 3.2 meters.

Drive power is made possible by a single Cummins 380 Euro 3 series diesel-fueled engine of 380 horsepower mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission system. Various onboard systems provide electrical power to the vehicle. ©MilitaryFactory.com
