The Ejder Yalcin is an all-modern 4x4 light armored vehicle produced by Nurol Makina of Turkey. The vehicle is designed for the rigors of urban fighting/security operations with inherent cross-country capabilities in-built atop a versatile platform that can be configured to suit a plethora of battlefield roles. Introduced in the latter half of the 2000s, the vehicle currently serves the fighting forces of Georgia, Hungary, Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Qatar. A 6x6-wheeled form is also available.

The vehicle is powered by a Cummins turbocharged diesel-fueled 6-cylinder unit outputting between 300 and 400 horsepower to the 4x4 wheeled arrangement. The engine is fitted to the front compartment in the usual way with the driving station and passenger section immediately behind. High ground clearance and a suspended chassis give the vehicle excellent cross-country capabilities while roadwheels provide for a smooth driving experience over paved roads. Run-flat tires ensure the vehicle can exit a deteriorating situation in time.

The base Armored Combat Vehicle (ACV) headlines an entire family of battle-ready vehicles including Armored Personnel Carrier (APC), ambulance, Command & Control (CC2), airspace deterrence, and missile carrier. As such, the typical armament fit involving a weapons station over the roof, can be substituted for the role - surface-to-air missiles for anti-aircraft operations, Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs) for tank-killing, and so on. Integration of a Remote Weapon Station (RWS) is noted - keeping occupants further out of harm's way.

The versatility of the vehicle goes beyond its varied forms and translates to its on-field capabilities: able to ford up to 1.1 meters of water, climb an obstacle measuring up to 0.5 meters high, cross a trench of 1.1 meters width, traverse a slope up to 30% grade, and climb a gradient of 60%.

The base design carries nine occupants in some basic comfort. Powered fans help to extract gunpowder fumes from the cabin when under fire. Steering is power-assisted. Armor protection is against small arms fire, artillery spray, and some mines / Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).©MilitaryFactory.com
