Headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, motorcycle-maker Christini builds a militarized version of its AWD 450 product (based on the Honda CRF450). The bike is set apart from its civilian offering by modifications that promote robustness, reliability and protection in-the-field to special operations units (including the Navy SEALs). The bikes are designed for both off-road and on-road travel with an All-Wheel Drive system driven by a liquid-cooled 450cc 4-stike engine. The result is a military motorcycle that supplies special forces with the required agility, performance and traction required when operating over unforgiving terrain. Add to this the speed at which the bike operates and special forces are given a fast-reaction system capable of handling one rider and their personal gear including primary weapon.

Military motorcycles, particularly special forces models, are given special attention in the way of infrared signature reduction, sound-reducing mufflers and special camouflage patterns. Such vehicles serve several military roles including reconnaissance, scouting, communications relay and general transport.

The Christini AWD has already seen considerable service in the Afghanistan Theater of Operations.
