Jasoos is a tactical reconnaissance-minded Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in service with the Pakistani Air Force. It is of local design and manufacture under the SATUMA brand label. Its general configuration is traditional with its fixed wheeled undercarriage, high-mounted wing mainplanes, and twin-rudder fins. The drone relies on a twin-boom configuration, features a central nacelle housing optics, avionics, fuel and powerplant and fits its engine at the rear turning a two-bladed propeller in a "pusher" configuration. Optics are held in a ventral blister assembly offering 360-rotation.

Dimensionally the UAV sports a length of 4.27 meters and a wingspan of 4.92 meters. Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) is 245 kilograms. Power is from a 2-cylinder, two-stroke gasoline-fueled engine developing 38 horsepower while driving the two-bladed propeller. Performance specifications include a maximum speed of 180 kmh, a range out to 100 kilometers, and a service ceiling up to 3,480 meters. Mission endurance is said to be in the 6 hour range.

This UAV is not armed for direct attack. Instead, its payload (up to 40 kilograms) consists of electro-optical systems for over-battlefield reconnaissance. Data is transferred to a Ground Control Station (GCS) by way of a data-link arrangement. There is an onboard autonomous feature which allows for both remote-controlled and pre-programmed waypoint management as needed. Take-off and landing is operator-managed.©MilitaryFactory.com
