Details for the Iraq Campaign Medal

Ribbon Identification Colors: red; white; green; black; tan
Visual Description (Ribbon):
Thicker red stripe to thinner white and even thinner green, then white to thicker black with a band of tan at the center; concludes in similar black-to-white-to-green-to-white-to-red stripes.
Visual Description (Medal):
Bronze circular medal; depicting outline of nation of Iraq over a set of palm wreaths; inscription along the top most edge reads "Iraq Campaign" REVERSE: Statue of Freedom with sunburst behind; two crossing scimitars at her feet; text below scene reads "For Service in Iraq".
Award Criteria:
Awarded to soldiers deployed in direct support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq on or after March 19th, 2003 including naval forces out to 12 nautical miles from the coast of the nation; may be awarded posthumously to eligible service personnel.
