Details for the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal

Ribbon Identification Colors: blue; white; yellow; red
Visual Description (Ribbon):
Light blue stripe to thinner blue-white-blue, then light blue to thin yellow-light blue; center is medium width red stripe then previous pattern continues for the rest of the ribbon width.
Visual Description (Medal):
Bronze circular medal ringed along the lower edges with laurel wreath; shield over two crosses swords with spread eagle on top of the shield itself; snake is grasped in eagle's claws REVERSE: Eagle with snake in its grasp over crossed swords; upper edges ringed with test "War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal".
Award Criteria:
Awarded to those deployed overseas in operations encompassing the Global War on Terrorism launched after the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001; may be awarded posthumously for eligible personnel.
