Modeler's Unite! More Images for the User
Our improved image handling capacity is sure to be a site strong point
by Dan Alex
June 26, 2009 - You may have already noticed the changes but it's worth us mentioning it here. Over the next few months, we'll be working on translating our 300x250 images site wide into full-blown 800 pixel wide images for your viewing pleasure. This means that all you casual observers, hard core fans and modeling nuts can get even more usage out of the site. We'll be focusing on updating our old images and focusing new ones on details such as landing gears, tracks, engines, etc... All this is sure to help those out there in need of detailed pics for their respective projects.
Mind you that images with the "www.MilitaryFactory.com" watermark or the colorized "MF" logo remain exclusive properties of MilitaryFactory.com. All other photographs are of the DoD or public domain nature for which you are free to reuse as you need.
This project will take a few months to finalize but you can already see the changes in entries throughout the site - such as this one for the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle. Other completed entries include the Avro CF-100 Canuck, the De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito, the Messerschmitt BF 109, the Convair F-102 Delta Dagger and the Convair F-106 Delta Dart.
We have also increased the number of images per entry. Aircraft can now sport up to 20 images. Navy ships can now handle up to 10 images while armor entries will sport up to 10 images as (the latter coming soon).
So please be patient. Going through some 1000+ images will take some time to complete so you might not see many write-ups completed in that span. The end result, however, should be just what the user ordered.
